Polaroid emulsion lifts
Polaroid emulsion lifts are created by removing the emulsion from a polaroid, and suspending it in water. While the emulsion is in the water it is soft and behaves like fabric. The emulsion is then moved gently onto paper and arranged to create folds and shapes. Once the image has dried on the paper it is then scanned to create a digital image which can be printed. The image is not manipulated in photoshop, the folds and distortions are all done by hand. Video clips of the process are available on instagram highlights or reels @anna.j.photo
